During the inspection period, a professional inspector reviews the property's condition. Mortgage lenders require an appraisal to validate the loan amount. Shop for property insurance and, if applicable, complete your HOA application during this phase.
Just before closing, you walk through the property one last time to confirm it's in the agreed condition, all repairs are complete, and nothing was damaged during the seller's move. Schedule it as close to closing day as possible.
